Frustration...

Last Friday, Phia's bag got stolen during the DSCC holiday outing to Wild Wild Wet. Everything was GONE! Poor phia but u can imagine how touched she was when all her students started running around the place to help her search for her bag. Anyways, its sad to know that someone could do that!! My sis was left with only her swimming costume!! what on earth do u want with her clothes any MY sandals!!! *hmph*
After hearing the whole story, i can only say this.
Wild Wild Wet management sucks, they don't care if u lose ur things. In fact, its so common for them they even told my sis, peoples' things get stolen from the lockers!
To read from the victim herself: http://from-this-moment.blogspot.com/2008/06/i-lost-my-bag-in-wild-wild-wet.html

I've gone back to work, and still struggling with my left hand. I can't stay rested too long.. especially cos i could not do anything fun :( Managed to impress some at office with my new skill at using the mouse with my left hand ;) Today Ganesh got a surprise and started calling me a "leftie" hmm~ Well, I even managed a simple run through of SCTM with some of the new guys on the team. But cherrie's getting FRUSTRATED!!! Progress is too slow, replying emails and filing bugs have become a chore.. testing is slow as i can only do one thing at a time now :(

I had planned to take the Placement Test at Inoue, another Japanese School cos I heard from my sisters the classes are smaller and they have a cute sensei now other than the very experienced Inoue sensei himself. Actually cos i've gotten really bored of classes at JCS, class size of abt 40 pple. Its hard to get a chance to even say 1 sentence to the sensei each lesson. Maybe i'm trying to justify my actions but i'm really not interested in getting the certs, what i want is to enjoy the lessons, and be able to hold a proper Japanese conversation... :(

Still thinking abt it now, strangely my knuckles hurt when i grip a pen. I think a fat pen should do the job, gotta find one tonight... :) anyway its frustrating... luckily i can still type with my leftie.. :)

Oh yah, lunch was nice today. I had steak which michelle helped me cut into small pieces so i could just use my fork. Thank you!! :D~

Ahh.. i finished The Legend, in 1.5days + 2 nights!

Terrble ending that makes me wonder if the USD5 billion wasn't sufficient. The show was so great up till the 2nd last episode!!! Bae Yong Joon (center) is really cool!! *"* and Lee Ji-ah(left) is really cute!! Overall, the show was amazing, just don't watch tiill the end :P

*~ The one where she uses her left hand ~*

I waited from 2pm till abt 5.40pm for my turn to go into the theatre. Thankfully, mom was with me all day. :) Dr Jacqueline Tan had kindly given in to my request that i really wanted to get over with it ASAP. So by mistake she had a overrun of 7 operations in a day instead of the usual maximum of 5.
I was no. 6, and naturally a little worried that she's too tired but reassured me that she once did a op for 15 hrs straight and it went well. :)

So it was goodbye to this little bump~

Yay, i survived! with temporary local anaesthetic, i couldn't feel a thing except a swelling feeling because they have to stop the blood flow to the lower arm.
Happy because Dr Jacq didn't intend to let me see the procedure anyway so i was blocked by a thick green cloth.

After some waiting, i finally decided to ask, "Have u already cut my skin?"
She cool-ly replied "of course, did u think i will still be sitting here, staring at your hand?"

Finally it was almost done, the nurse showed me what was removed.. A little different from what i had expected, like a piece of flesh. *yikes* Apparently the gel-like substance which i've read and was told abt, is only what fills up this "balloon". As Dr. Jacq explained, this is the reason why it became a recurring problem for me. It was also deeper than she expected, which increased the level of difficulty of the op. But it all went well ;) She's very experienced! Now we'll just have to wait and see how her stitching went when I see her again next monday to remove the bandage. :)

"NOT ALLOWED TO USE YOUR RIGHT HAND, ESPECIALLY NOT TYPING!! - Dr. Jacq."

She gave me a 12day mc!! i'm so bored already and today's only the 3rd day... That's cos i can't do anything like tidying, or writing or cooking or going to the gym or swimming... :( just animes, movies and occasionally chatting with people. Sorry, i try very hard not to disturb but im so bored!!

I've become really good at typing with my left hand now except its really tiring on the arm muscles. :P Holding the spoon is also weird. :D

Lets hope all pain is gone too, but there's a slight chance of a partially torn ligament.. but we won't know till later. :) I promise to be better to my dear rightie~

*~ Once Upon A Giant ~*

I'm so surprised to know that it wasn't just me and my sisters searching for this show for years. :) We tried all means and ways, checked out forums, contacted Singapore Media Corp and requested they show it once more. I'd even asked a Canadian friend to look out for the show because it was last seen on CBC when i checked out the forums. But thanks to tc, i got a copy of it for my bday last yr. :)

It's a children's movie about a jester and a doctor who went to fight the giant. A hilarious movie with very very nice music.

Michelle recently surfed onto my blog and posted a comment. We managed to get in touch through email. Thanks Michelle for forwarding the email, it really makes me very very happy to know i've made your whole family happy! :) I hope you get to see it soon too when you return from US!

From Michelle's mom:

Thank you for the CD.
When the post man came, jean was with me.
We screamed and screamed when we saw the CD.
You are so clever. Where did you get it.
Saw it, brought back so many memories. Papa brought it
to office to burnt another one.(Keep it for your
children).

Thanks. Love you, mummy.

Isn't it amazing how small the world has become because of the internet? It makes me think I could possibly do more.. no matter how small the favour is.. Like the movie "Pay It Forward", if everyone passed on a good deed to another 3 people, i'm sure the world would become a better place. :)

*~ slow week....~*

its a slow week.. both managers are not in office.. the atmosphere reminds me of christmas.. i'm barely motivated to work if not for the pressing tasks on hand.

if i were to list down all the issues that i cannot solve right now, i think i would burst :P but we'll just see.. i have tomorrow.. then nxt week i will go do the small operation on my wrist. *scared* and then i will have a good rest for at least 24 hours ;)

have been running away from it cos im so sure i would faint looking at the skin on my wrist being cut on local anaesthetic.. so mom will have to go with me.. im so useless!! *blush* this is also why i couldn't become a doctor cos im so.. eeek.. afraid of incisions and disection blah blah.. :P

so the courage to go for the op. now was cos of a match which might never take place anymore. i was sooo sooooo.. *sigh* disappointed.. still am actually. Quoting a friend: "... but it's the same as it had always been. u get something promised ..." of cos there are all the other reasons like mi wrist hurting even when im writing.. argh..

anyways now i'm stuck.. so i will just pray this op. will be the end of the lousy ganglian that made me terrible at shooting hoops... and hurt like mad when i break my fall on my right arm.. :(
and that the it doesn't leave too ugly a scar :P heee~

met feng, dav, pei, susan, siang for dinner at vivo (the usual hangout now..) and hog's breath food wasn't really good.. but portion is big and looks good.

*~ Starters ~*

*~ My HUGE dinner ~*

*~ Our "mixed platter" of uneaten food ~*

:) hanging out with friends is always nice.. so *ah hem!* there's no need for a special occasion yeah? just meet up, chat and laugh all night until we made ourselves so sleepy.. :D

*~ We all ~*

oh and i tried what Flo calls "sour radler" which is just beer with water.. and its not nice.. as susan says, its like beer with melted ice... -_-"

*~ Kungfu Beauties! ~*

Random thoughts :P

finally finished backdating for the months of march.. april, or at least im giving up on the rest which i've forgotten about.. :P

started updating my travel blog and just finished with the first 5 days in Linz. hmm.. there's still more to come! maybe next weekend ;)

So sad.. cos baby claire kept crying at our home today.. decided it was best for her to go back home before she lost her voice from all that screaming.. so that's all for my long awaited for family day..

my dear sec 4 students for the first time in so many yrs seemed really interested in maths.. and the topic on integration is probably the last on the list for their O'Levels.

*~ My Lovely Titus! ~*

Never really been a fan of wearing watches, for 2 simple reasons. One, it just wasn't convenient when I played table tennis and basketball. Two, i realised i was too tied down by time, i just stopped wearing a watch altogether.

So i've never bought myself a watch, till we went shopping for Zana's present the other day. It was too tempting to ignore. The watch was staring at me and asking me to put it on!!~

So here it is. ;)

*~ my lovely Titus ~*

I made a mistake thinking it was $235 going at 50% discount, but it turned out to be $325!!! Lucky for me though, it was actually 60% discount! wahahaha! So i got a super good deal ^^ *hurray*

The one with flowers, a new watch and 5 free drinks!!

A really belated bday celebration for Zana...
Got her gift and got her some nice roses where Mich, Cindy and I put our hearts into some floral arrangements again!~ Not forgetting we dded 7 racoons for good fortune~ :)

*~ One of the bandits in the flowers! ~*

As usual.. we love taking photos in the walkway!

*~ The EQC girls ^^ ~*

Remember the childhood arcade machine where u hammer moles??

*~ hitting racoons and zana?? ~*

We ended up in Vivo for a simple dinner at banquet before heading to St James (first time us except ting and chris) And to get a shot of ani before he decided to make his way back to office for a TEN min conference call which he could easily take with a handphone -_-"

*~ time for random pics in a big shopping mall ~*

Craving for some live music and dance, we went straight into the most crowded club, called Movida where they played World music... The dancers & singers were great! $10 cover charge comes with 1 free drink for girls, and just $12 for guys. ;) There was no radler nor shandy.. so i specifically requested for beer with sprite (i was well-taught in austria). It came with a cherry.. cool! (first drink on the bottom right of this photo below) Extremely sweet but hmm not too bad for my first girly's beer in SG. ^^

*~ first round of drinks ~*

With just one stamp visible under UV light, we went into Dragonfly (a well-known Chinese/Canto club) without paying.. well im not sure abt the entrances really.. Crowded is all i can say.. :(

Decided to go for some Jazz music, we went to Bellini's. And it was Ladies' Nite (Wednesday) and 5 free drinks for all ladies!! We went crazy! (btw, free entrance for Chris too! hahaha~ )
We kept getting orange juice until the bartender decided to only offer us Tequila shots. :P and a vodka orange disguising as a normal orange juice which Zana almost had.. *sorry*

*~ us having our 2nd tequila shot ~*

*~ after 5 drinks... ~*

Wed nights are gonna be great for chilling out! We don't have to pay a single cent for Housepours, house wine, Tiger beer, Juice or soft drinks! and 5 of them!! :)

Hmm that's it~ i think we all had fun ;)

*~ Angela's Live @ Singapore 2008 ~*

Happy Happy~ Finally got to see my Angela Zhang Shao Han LIVE!! *crying with tears of joy*

After the postponement in March.. and a big assumption by yybl.. we almost didn't get to go... but for his hardwork and my apologies for the hurtful sms in the past (which i can't remember.. sorry..) thanks.. for bringing me to see my dear shaohan!

*~my beautiful tix that costs $0.. :P~*

*~shao han's beautiful concert poster outside Hall 5 Expo~*

*~us, with our light sabres~*

*~shao han's entry into the hall form the "roof"~*

*~shao han and fanfan doing 如果的事(one of my fav!)~*

*~shao han with 口袋里的天空 (another fav!)~*

*~guo jing, shao han & fanfan doing 仨人(yet another fav!)~*

*~mother hen and her baby chicks~*

*~shao han crying.. singing 遗失的美好 (my fav!!)~*

*~i was probably 10m away from shaohan!!~*

*~The grand finale, end of encore where she did Aurora & 预言~*

Whole concert lasted abt 2 hours, and she did as many songs as you could possibly imagine. And why do I love her so much? She has a great voice and she loves singing... u can really feel her heart and soul in the music.. and when she cried while doing 遗失的美好, i could only cry along.. along the way, everyone loses something possibly precious.. but its not all lost.. there are so many beautiful things on their way!

I'm soooo happy~ and also a little lucky too.. ^^
