*~ Our 1st carboot sale @ St James! ~*

It was definitely a hot sunny sunday afternoon!~
Got up early to pack our stocks loaded the car and were on our way at 10.45am! Arrived at St James and started setting up our boot, ready for the carboot sale! Was a really hot day, and we forgot about umbrellas!!
Poor me got a weird tan; carelessly wiped my hands after spreading sunblock on my face, onto my arms.. now i've got "adidas" labels on both arms.. :(

my black beauty in the hot sun

Unfortunately also at 3pm it started to rain. We stuffed everything back into the boot and the back seat and waited.. was almost gonna give up and drive home but our neighbouring stall-mate told us that their "Mr Know-it-all" friend said it will just be another 20 min.. so we waited again :) Rain stopped, business slowed but the weather was much more bearable. Cool stuff!

Carboot sales - a must do! :D

*~ Gathering at XiaoFu's house ~*

The tiramisu cake we prepared the night before was to serve its purpose as sy's bday cake! heee~ Coincidentally the day that xiaofu had invited us over was also sy's bay~

*~perfect product!~*

Xiaofu's parents and mother-in-law visited from Szechuan during CNY and prepared a sumptious spread for us ~ mmm~ this is true happiness! To eat authentic szechuan food prepared by szechuan people with lots of love (and alot of skill!)

Just look at the greedy faces while waiting for dinner to start~

*~dinner time!~*

Knowing xiaofu's dad likes drinking (although red-wine is really nothing compared to some chinese wines) i brought with me a few bottles to celebrate! ;)

*~Cheers!~*

Finally.... we got to taste our first product~ mmm... unfortunately it was too soaked with kahlua... :P hehee~

*~Happy Birthday!~*

*~ HomeScience - Lesson 1 ~*

Our first home science lesson - to learn some skills from Cindy~ Making her well-known and ever so popular dessert in office .... *~Tiramisu!~*

To first fill out growling tummies we started to prepare 2 different spaghettis (creamy mushroom and tomato-based minced chicken).

Even before that was done, xiao-fu fried some eggs for each of us egg lovers!~ :D

tomato-based minced chicken spaghetti~ Although I'm a cream-based spaghetti lover, this one turned out to me really too good!

creamy mushroom and ham!~ mmm~~

Time to get serious~
Some important ingredients first (have yet to copy the recipe~~ :P)

kahlua, whipping cream, Mascarpone cream cheese (this is the key!)

we followed our teacher's instructions seriously and we made it! Dipping the evenly cut slices of cakes into the kahlua-mixture while making sure it is not overly soaked - was a real test of skills and "qi-gong".. :P
Whipping cream is a lot of fun! Bearing in mind now, you're not supposed to over-whip either! ;)

*~ My 1st Mayim Dinner ~*

I've been wanting to go try out food at Mayim since Didi's trip to SG when Michelle and Michael brought him there and Didi's comments was it was comparable to Ma Maison!! :P

So.. had to get a pot of Pu-er with Chrysanthemum (sounded interesting)

and had some pork ribs soup....

sweet&sour soup ....

fried beans ....

roasted duck ....

and mapo tofu (my all-time favourite!)

mmm.. how was it? Eh.. i guess i over anticipated.. so it was only "ok-ok".. hee~ but the price is reasonable for some healthy chinese food and the nice chinese ambience. :) Still a good choice! mhm~
