22nd Feb 2012 - finally the day of our pre-wedding shoot .. by the Bride

Had been feeling very nervous.. hearing stories about how tiring it would be.. and how difficult it was to take night shots.. on top of worrying that we are far from photogenic and probably most unnatural when it comes to 1..2..3.. *SMILE*

Despite the worrying.. we somehow managed to accumulate 5 bags/boxes/baskets of props by this day, 3 pairs of shoes each, and 6 shirts for the groom (unsure which would come in handy).

Finally arrived at the Bridal Zone studio @ Luzerne at 10am and started my makeup with Angeline, very experienced (more than 18 yrs with bridal zone, and many years before) and knows how to make you feel comfortable. Being someone who isn't too good with make up usually, I was pleasantly surprised by my new image *"*. She also managed to straighten out dearie's unruly hair making him a little cuter than usual ;)

Happy with our new look, we started out photoshoot with Dexter, having chatted with him twice before, we were pretty comfortable with his style and sense of humour. He knew how to make us feel comfortable and guided us with the poses so it turned out to be a smooth ride for us~ By 2pm we finished 3 indoor shoots and took a break for lunch. Angeline also touched us up and prepared us for the outdoor shoot by 3.30pm.

Amazingly, we accomplished all we set out to do, 4 outdoor locations!! We had seen a few of Dexter's work and knew he was one of the photographers that is more to the "fun" type of shoots vs the "romantic" type so we had requested to have his help. Dexter is a real pro, so everything happened quickly! Always happy to hear him giving us a "Pass" grade especially when the pose was a difficult one. Its pretty tough keeping the smile while having your body twisted in weird angles. hehe~ we felt like models for once! And we actually had romantic and fun shots throughout, best of both worlds! Also with Jennifer's help to touch up our powder and hair, we stayed good-looking throughout.

One unforgettable experience was when my favourite outdoor gown got caught in the escalator. My memory is a blur now.. remember my legs turning into jelly and i just sat there holding the down tightly while the guys (dearie and Dexter) anxiously tugging at my gown.. i was completely in shock.. just knew i had to pull very hard to make sure the escalator doesn't suck in more of the gown.. I recall Dexter shouting to dearie "u watch your wife!" and disappeared. Jennifer came back with the security guard who stopped the escalator and that was when we finally took a breath. Next, Dexter came back with a pair of scissors and snipped part of the gown away. I was really speechless. Everyone was just asking "are u ok? are u hurt?" Glad everything was fine.. but we were all in shock. On the way back to the car, Dexter was saying how he was so anxious he just knew he needed a pair of scissors and he could get it from a kitchen. He ran to one and couldn't get his words right but still managed to come back to my rescue. *phew* Had to get changed and we moved on to the next location, which was good.. soon we were back in the mood because by this time the rain clouds had left us and we had a clear blue sky. It was great!

In the night when we returned to the BZ studio, the ladies were shocked by the incident.. again they kept asking if i was ok, making sure i didn't get hurt.. *touched* I'm glad we picked BZ.. they've been the greatest up till now.. :)

Really tiring.. be prepared to take the day after photoshoot off from work. well.. at least we both did... :P

Can't wait to see how the photos turned out! Next date, 17th March! :D

My Wedding Shoes~ .. by the Bride

Had been shopping alot.. looking for the perfect pair of Wedding shoes.. read about where people got their shoes in the forums.. and checked out some places.
Too bad for us, the owners of Leapin Lizard had decided to go on a break from October 2011.. and i knew i couldn't get the perfect MTM shoes..

With phia's recommendation i managed a pair of white laced, 5" shoes from TipToe at City Plaza.

Another pair of gold bling bling 4" heels on impulse from far east (forgot the shop name but its on the 4th floor near Anna nucci) Collected it at the Trendy Zone outlet in Orchard Central.

Still think its a beauty.. but was adviced later by Yuan Yuan from Bridal Zone that it wouldn't match the gowns so well..

So finally a night before the photoshoot, i decided to get the pair of silver bling bling 3.5" heels from Anna Nucci @ 313 Somerset which i had already liked when I went to the outlet at Jurong Point but hesitated cos of the price. After 30% discount it was still almost $100.... :DP
The Anna Nucci outlet at 4th Floor of Far East Plaza if probably the outlet with most designs..

This pair can be tied in multiple ways (except i haven't figured it out...) or matched with different straps that can be purchased at Anna Nucci. But i decided to stick with the original bling bling straps for now. :)

Trial makeup @ BZ

So exciting.. first time i was meeting Angeline, my Bridal Zone MUA for my trial make-up. And thank goodness one of the first things she said was "oh your eyes can be "drawn" much bigger". but we weren't using fake eyelashes for trial so she toned down a bit with the double eyelid stickers.

After makeup was done, time to try do a final fitting of the gowns before our Pre-wedding Photoshoot.

*~ that's me in my favourite outdoor gown ~*

Not wanting to waste Angeline's effort for making me up, we made arrangements to meet Charles for our 2nd casual photoshoot at Chinese Garden.

With much fun in getting our props, and also hanging around eugene's neck is an antique-ish camera though no longer functioning, but strong sentimental value as it was from grandpa...

*~ Eugene.. kinda looking like Super Mario is Black and White ~*

*~ Me with one of the balloons still surviving from our Pre-wedding party ~*

Valentine's day dinnerS 2012

Happy Valentine's Day!

Generally, vday is the day where restaurants are making money of the poor couples and serving some okok only food. We didn't want to celebrate on the actual vday.. less wanting a bouquet of overpriced roses..
Well but still for the significance of vday, we did still go out to eat and TWICE :P~

As usual, i didn't know what to buy for him.. so chocolates had to do since this is the common gift that girls in Japan give to guys on v-day to express their liking for the guy. hehee~
And umm.. dearie bought me a rooster pendant necklace. Sometimes he's just weird, but thats also the cute side of him i like so much!

Food was ok, considering its a Vday set dinner.

Thanks to dearie for arranging a dinner at Aerins in Raffles City.

Vday seemed too simple huh.. we went for another feast the following day at YakiyakiBo in Jurong Point!

Got 2 seat dinners and this was what we finished~

some soup....

some salad....

lobster~~ ooo~~

salmon~

steak~

teriyaki chicken~

egg tofu~

the veges

Can't recall but I think both sets cost us around $60 odd? Not bad right? :)
