Arrival of my little one~

after 6 hrs of horrible cramps which I did not even realise were contraction pains.. I finally gave up at 4am on 7 Nov 2013 morning and told dearie I needed to go to the hospital to find out what was wrong.. struggled to the bathroom to get a quick shower only being able to move myself in intervals each time a contraction was over and struggled to the car.

got to tmc ard 4.30 in the morning and was told by the nurse that from the looks of the amt of pain im in, I am definitely in labour. hmm wouldn't say I was completely ready, in fact I was gonna attend a course that very day..

after a quick check, I was told I was 4cm dilated. at that point I was already begging for my epidural shot, while continuously vomiting god knows what, probably bile juice since I didn't manage to stomach any food nor milk. finally got my epi shot at ard 7am by the most famous anaesthetist Wong Kah Hoe. i was numb lower back down to my feet and we just had to wait till I was 10cm dilated. as many people say, epi is the best invention ever.

Dr Tan came ard 11am and estimated that I should deliver after lunch by tea time. meanwhile the midwives came in periodically to check my dilation, and to monitor baby's heartbeat.

slight complications during delivery as baby was tangled by his umbilical cord. (mommy already told u multiple times not to play with it!) ended up with an assisted natural birth with 2 mid wives pushing with me and gynae with forceps. luckily baby was only tied ard his arm.

I was completely knocked out when epi wore off. it was time to suffer for the painless delivery... its as if u get all the pains u missed out on, only less intense but for a longer time. din manage to eat at all until the next morning. phew.. I wonder if I can go thru this a 2nd time.. ;)

am truly thankful for a considerably smooth delivery of my darling boy Linus Sun. :)

7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Once again I'm back after what has been ages....~ mostly due to feeling more motivated after attending a course on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by a very engaging facilitator Michael Lee from Right Management ManpowerGroup. Oh and I am sooo happy to get a free copy of this book which I had always wanted to but never gotten down to reading.

For starters:
Habit 1: Be Proactive
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Habit 3: Put First Things First
Habit 4: Think Win-Win
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
Habit 6: Synergize
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

Haha! Realised that I had complained abt my early pregnancy morning ("all-day") sickness in my post on 30 April... which actually went on till around week 20. I'm now in my 26th week.. so I've more or less had some 6 good weeks so far.. already gained back 3.9 kg of the 6kg I had lost earlier.. hope it will stabilize soon.. :P Maybe not fantastic good, but better weeks... eating my back-to-normal portion of food but I will get super indigestion after that and breathlessness from the full meal... heartburn is still a frequent problem but i guess its still bearable when compared to the weeks of puking even with a lack of appetite, and giddiness and everything else that makes up morning sickness..

Gonna do up some backdated posts as usual... hopefully i will be done before the baby arrives =)

Our 1st Year Wedding Anniversary~

Guess most newly weds would be celebrating their 1st year wedding anniversary in a much more exciting and memorable way~ But for me.... I was completely bogged down by my all day long morning sickness, prob also at the peak of my weight lost at the time.. plus dearie had to go to Bangkok for his first biz trip the week before our anniversary.. Wasn't much fun, he couldn't plan some nice meals since I wasn't really eating and i couldn't go shopping cos of my "sickness"...

So we ended up with this.... :)

This was from dearie~

I had been 'bio'-ing this Casio Sheen SHE 3500D-4ADR watch since Feb when I saw it on a magazine. Would have preferred the rose gold one but dearie thought it was pink and too kiddy for me apparently.. but also cos he said the shop only had this one last piece... :P

This was from me to dearie~

I managed to drag myself to those photo printing stations to get the photos printed on one of those days i felt i could still survive outside of office and home for more than 30 min :P

also spent like 2 days sewing a stuffed lamb.. which in the end i gave up with the body and only managed the head, but it is still cute ok!! Still have yet to get down to working on the rooster one.. :P had bought them in a pair...

This was the must try popiah from QiJi according to dearie...

We went to Nex at Serangoon a day before the actual anniversary since 24 Jun was gonna be a Monday.. working day for us... We thought it was our first time there.. but later realised we had been to the mall once to collect some durian cake which I bought from a deal site maybe a year ago. Hmm wasn't as HUGE as what everyone seemed to make it sound.

24 Jun 2013 (a year after the wedding day....)

Super chocolatey cake from Breadtalk!

Dearie went to get us a cake for a proper celebration. Was really nice.. can't remember what it's call though... don't be disappointed by its size because the richness in chocolate is enough to fill you up. :) Super duper good - even for a preggy woman with morning sickness!

Week 10 to 11...

Never felt more miserable physically than now.. after weeks and weeks of nausea and giddiness and repulsion of food and abt a loss of 4kg in 4 weeks (finally gave up weighing), to top things up I've started having a bad cold where the nose can't seem to decide whether to run or to stay blocked. And I'm coughing streaks of blood keeping me insanely awake in the night.. well done...

Just had to remember this...

*cheer up cheer up*

Saveur @ Purvis St

Saveur - a place quality, yet affordable French cuisine

5 Purvis St  Singapore 188584
6333 3121

Recommended by dearie's colleague so finally one day dearie brought me there :) Opened by 2 young entreprenuers that wanted to sell good quality french cuisine at affordable prices~ So the place is pretty packed as you might imagine.

Entrance to the restaurant

What dearie had ....
CHICKEN
A roulade of chicken thigh stuffed with foie gras-infused chicken farce,
creamy basmati rice & parmesan sauce $9.90

What I had....
DUCK
Duck leg confit, homemade mashed potato, sauteed shitake mushroom,
orange segments & orange infused natural jus $10.90

What I didn't take pictures of was our starters.. foie gras.. hmm can't remember why I would have skipped that. :P

Food was not bad, although the portions looked small but i was surprisingly satisfied at the end of my mains that I couldn't even go for dessert. So a meal per person could range from ~$20 to ~$30 depending on whether you get a drink and dessert.
