Colleague's baby girl Peixuan turns 1 month old today~
So cute, we accompanied him to Secret Recipe to get a cake to celebrate his joy with the rest of EQC.


It was a plain brown Chocolate Banana Cake (Popular choice!) originally. The lady so nicely decorated it with sugared stars and a milkbottle~ soooo cute! :P And very tasty!

We wanted to do something special for Sri before she left our company so after chatting with her, decided what she needed was to realise that attention could afterall be good!~ And compliments should be accepted gracefully. She's very shy, dun like to much attention.. (reminded me of miself in the past, skirts were not part of mi wardrobe till Uni)


Bought her a nice pink top and forced her to wear it for her farewell lunch. Bought a nice white beaded necklace too which she felt was too outrageous for her.. :( Anyways turned out she was very happy to get all the nice compliments~

havent bought any flowers so washed mi glass beads and lay them out on mi table.

Its so nice that i have very little incentive to buy new flowers for the vase. hehee~

Did you know forget-me-nots were white before they turn purple?


On wednesday morning, i noticed that the forget-me-nots cindy bought on monday were blooming with tiny white flowers~ By friday, they had one-by-one turned purple. Cool~ I never knew that.. only knew they were probably the longest lasting flowers even after they dry up, will till look pretty and purple~ :D

my craze for jap food, jap shows, jap classes make pple wonder if im dating a japanese guy. Sadly, nope.. haha :)

Anyways, Ichiban Sushi at IMM is darn good! Was too busy eating to take photos this time!~ So much variety of sushi, it beats Sakae.. (sadly, cos im an insignificant shareholder of Sakae.. PLEASE VISIT SAKAE nevertheless!) Soft-shell crab @ sakae was better, and they have fried tofu~

Well, did get a shot of the tempura ice-cream cos its mi first try at something like that (excluding fried ice-cream at Al-Azhar a super long time ago)

1. Finding the place in Holland Village, right beside Al-Dente, near to NYDC and SPIZZA..~


2. Never done it before? Check out the instructions first!


3. Selecting a 'size cup'. (Noticed they call it size cup.. not the other way around.. :P)


4. Choose 2 flavours of ice-cream (Up to 3 if you are getting a bigger cup)


5. Choose as many add-ons at $1 each


6. Watch them take my violet crumble to match my honey comb ice-cream...


7. and red cherries for my low-fat cheesecake ice-cream


8. ALL into one small cup! Learning why its called Cold Rock, because the rock which they mix the ice-creams and add-ons on is SUPER COOOOLLLLDD!

After lunch, went with cindy-san to get new flowers for our empty vases and donuts for her treat for winning the EQC t-shirt design competition.

Back to office and was busy busy till the evening we finally found some time to do our "floral arrangement". Left it to cindy-san (who is generally more gentle and careful) to remove the plastic from the flowers. Last time i did it, mi flowers were almost "bald". :P


And she gave mi a "i-am-so-bullied" look.. hehee :D


Always a challenge to get mi flowers standing in the huge-based vase.. :P Always wonder if i should keep fighting fish or guppies instead~ hehee~


Thanks to the donut craze, a new donut outlet opened in IMM also with an orange-coloured box. e-Donuts.. interesting. 20+++ flavours and no super long queues.


Just had to get a shot of this pretty looking candied donuts before they got eaten. :P Only got a tiny piece so can't rate this vs the other donut shops. Moreover, i've only had BreadTalk (yes, they too have more flavours of donuts now) and Munchy Donut. Yet to get mi hands on a donut from Donut Factory *sob*


Finally a super belated birthday treat for cindy and mich. They are amazingly small eaters.. so lucky for mi pocket. :P Well, we had a bit more than wats in this photo... But seriously! I think one of me == both of them *blush*

K and Pete, with Diane and Chip came over to sg~ Meeting the latter 3 for the first time..
lots of All-Hands, Presentations, Meetings and Roundtable discussions. Luckily was just involved in the roundtable discussion which was supposed to be a relaxed, open-hearted "chat" with Pete. Well, there was SOME preparation for that but guess that turned out okie.. was good to know that mi upper management are straightforward pple. :)

Wuff's piglet arrived in the night of 10th September which we came to know of the nxt morning. Colleagues were still teasin why she din wait till 911 which i think would be a pretty stressful day to have a bday u dun think? She's so smart and terribly cute! :D

Visited wuff at Raffles Medical Hospital on Tuesday after work with a nice small bouquet of flowers and chicken essence.. :P

Can't give any rating this time since we all had what we created... eeeep~ ;P


Been some time since we met up with Satish.. definitely needed to get a photo yah!

And we put our brains into use before dinner, mixmatching ingredients and sauces. Think is mi 3rd time at sketches.. strange.. i din remember having such a hard time preparing mi recipe before.. .

We had our mooncake celebration in advance while K was still in sg. Nice!~ mi always love mooncake.. hee~ having cravings!

Went around snapping some photos and getting snapped~! it is a festive season afterall.. everyone loves taking photos~ :D

Tip: Have some chinese tea when eating mooncake! Not sure why but it tastes much better that way.. it's how i like to enjoy MY mooncake at least ^^

Friday 14th September 2007
Was WD's actual bday altho we did a small celebration on wednesday. Her team got her a nice bouquet of white lilies as a surprise. haha!


Everyone was teasing her about some secret admirer!

Did a bit of OT.. and went for dinner wif 2 colleagues.. most of everyone else had plans for a friday nite alredi... :'( Dragged TW to Jurong East cos SY and I were too lazy to head to town and back.. :P Suggested to dine at ZingDo cos mi wasnt feeling too well.. but there's always appetite for Jap or Korean food.. (it is a strange thing but always works for mi)


SY & TW had to be mi 'models' that evening.. wahaha~ TW's first try at bibimbap~ He was lookin forward to a nice friday nite out with his colleagues cos his wife (to-be) was busy but poor him was overruled by the westside-stayers.

Went home to a nice bouquet of flowers miself.. Always loved sunflowers although white lilies remain my favourite.


But its nice cos its the first time receiving sunflowers. I've only had my share of GIVING sunflowers to other friends. hehee~ :P

Had me feeling sad over why human are human and they only learn to treasure what they've lost. But who am I to say.. since I fail the same. :)

Took phia out for her first drive to pick up WQ in my Chevy after she got her license at 1st try *so proud* (She has to clock 10 lessons with me before she can be on her own.... wahahaha!~)

As usual, i woke up early, spent half the day teaching.. then WQ monitored Phia as she drove to pick mi up at woodlands. Not bad~ Not bad at all!

Woke up at 10.30, a little later than usual.. cos it was a nice rainy morning.. helped Phia send WQ to 'work' partly cos i needed to practice a little miself. Came home and continued with our little marathon..

Million Dollar Baby
I had thought it was a title of a comedy.. but turned out making mi cry buckets again. I always hated wrestling.. too violent for me.. and this was about how Maggie was fighting for her dream but that idiot Blue Bear cheated and punched her after the bell when Maggie was off guard. Sad.. :(

Secret
Phia had strongly recommended this.. even bought the dvd. Maybe mi expectations were too high or maybe cos it din stir strong emotions in me this time. But was a good storyline. Interesting. Half expected it to have to do with time travel.. nevertheless it was a creative play using piano playing as the main idea to build the story on.

Finally had 2 eps of OP on Veoh.. :)
Time to read some more of mi Harry Potter and then heading to bed...

feelin a bit down.. was just complaining to feng how i felt things werent going too well for mi again be it at work or in general.. needa go on a shopping spree..

spent mi weekend watching shows that have stacked up into mountains in the house.. courtesy of bing and phiaphia.. finished mi Hana Yori Dango.. (wat's dango??)
makes mi miss those times in japan.. even though i was sick on the first tour.. but remembering the weather, the nice feeling of having been there and catching mi sakura full bloom.... it was afterall mi childhood dream... 今まで大好きな.... あのきもち....

*sigh* so now im in this mood.. finally feel that mi life is headed nowhere again.. single and not ready to fall again.... and slogging away daily at mi current job.. occasionally turning to poems for some market-related excitement.. Sometimes not keeping up with mi japanese.. also the reason why 先生explained the meaning of "my pace" using me as example.. *blush*

although certain things at work are finally looking better.. but there are other things that are bugging mi.. making mi realise how unpolished i am when it comes to dealing with politics..
mom says im too straightforward, i think i take mi responsibilities too seriously.. and both feng and i feel we ought to be awarded loyalty cards and points..
when alan said i look too stressed at work, it realli surprised me.. cos it takes a lot more than IT work to stress me.. and usually, only one area of mi life can get mi down.. and its definitely not work or studies.. haha :P

so wat's next for cherriko? let me struggle till the end of the yr.. get mi JLPT3.. and see how things go from there mabbe? だいじょうぶかな... :P

hmm mi 3rd time to waraku.. on a friday evening~ was super crowded.. queued for abt 45 min before we were seated at the counter.
ah well.. made the best of it cos i got to see wats in the kitchen and the bar!~ cool~

Caught Evan Almighty after dinner~ hee~ i think i laughed most at the part when Evan sat in the office with the birds on him.. haha~ i couldn't help imagining how i would react if i were to walk into a room with mi friend stuck in that position.. hahaha! :P
But then.. it was a lot of crappy humour.. wahaha~
Definitely good at the end of a day of hard work~ :D

Lately, we always manage to find a reason to go out and "celebrate".
Missed cindy's bday celebrations cos mi had to go see doc abt mi neck and back problems.. :(


But recently, Al Azhar (opposite Beauty World) turned into one of our favourite food places. And i've learnt some of mi food names~
