My first trip to China, together with my little sister who had friends in Shenzhen, and our distant cousin was also to bring us around for a day~
Planned a rather budgeted trip so that we could do more shopping, we booked tix with Tiger Airways and headed to the Budget Terminal.
Before checking in, we had some lunch at Hans, there isn't too many choices at this terminal. But there's nothing to grumble about cos there's still McD, Han's, and a few other local food restaurants after checking in.
Arriving in Shenzhen, we cabbed to Springwood Harbour Hotel. Recommended by my sis since she stayed there the last time she was in Shenzhen on a biz trip.
Next day we met phia's friend for lunch at 上岛咖啡, a cafe opposite the hotel~
Did some shopping before meeting phia's friends again for a popular steambot dinner! Exceptionally perfect cos of the cold weather in winter~
The trip was almost all about food and shopping. Unfortunately our hands were usually too full on the shopping trips for any photos. Shoes and bags were really cheap! mmm.. lots of imitation goods too so be more wary~
At one point we were just curious looking through a catalog and the owner suggested to bring us to their store room where there were more designs.. hmm really eerie experience cos we followed him to a deserted building.. i had the urge to run but my daring lil sister thought it would be ok. Anyone that's a one-time only experience!! too scary!!
Running around Shenzhen on our own.. and stopping by a nice looking restaurant.
Finally met our distant cousin for yet another steamboat dinner!
Every country i visit, i like to try the McD. :) for a different flavour. In China, they have pork burgers and teriyaki chicken burgers~
Our cousin helped us check into another hotel which turned out to be eerie the first nite.. both phia and I could barely sleep. There were kids running up and down the corridor all night and loud talking abt luggages being dragged... the room looked really old and ermm.. dirty/eerie too...
Determined to change hotels the next morning... we went down to the reception.. but found that the rooms on the higher floors were newly renovated, we changed rooms instead. And to our HUGE relief!!
